Oblivion How To Become A Vampire

46

First of all, this may or may not contain spoilers about vampires. Read, at your own risk, you were warned!I love being a vampire in Oblivion. I like how you can drink someone's blood, without killing them.

  1. Oblivion Vampire Powers

Well actually you can't kill anyone by drinking their blood. Oh, and you can only drink someone's blood when they're sleeping. Paralized/stunned/dead, nope, its gotta be sleeping! And drinking the blood of someone sleeping doesn't even wake them up. The animation of a feeding vampire is unbelievable. You really have to see it to believe it. Its really something!Being a vampire is so awesome.

You know, the feeling you get when you sneak in someone's house at night, to sip a little bit of their blood when they're sleeping, and they don't notice, thats when you know and you feel like you're a really powerfull vampire preying on the living. But its not as easy as it sounds, oh no, you have to be careful, because if you make too much noise while entering their house, they can wake up, and if they wake up, then you can't drink their blood! And now that they're awake, they know you're not supposed to be in their house, and they'll tell you to get out, until you do! But its not over. Coz you got many other house you can go to. With another unsuspecting, sleeping victim.

Defeat only makes victory more delicious! Yes, I love how you really get the sens of what it would be like to be a powerfull vampire. Or, what I like to do, because of my incredible intelligence. Go out of their house like they tell me to do, but then, instead of going away, I like. Wait for an hour for them to go back to bed, then go back in the house, AND SUCK SOME IF ITS BLOOD LMAO! The same person that screamed at me to get out of the house, I went back, and like, drank some of its blood lmao!

Really really satisfying how I tricked him!!! ROFL!You can't turn anyone else into a vampire. If you.don't. drink blood, you become more powerfull. Don't say that.

How it is, so its normal, and when you think about it, the more hungry starving vampires are, the stronger they become. Yep, not drinking blood makes you, the vampire, stronger and drinking blood makes you weaker. Also, a cool thing is that you take damage if you go outside. And if you look very closely at your character's face, you can see that he looks a little bit different than he was before he became a vampire. I think they change a little bit the face, make him a bit less pale to make him look more like a real human, also change the eye color to the normal vampire eye color, orange. Also they remove your lipstick and eye shadow. Its really scary.

It kinda looks like some kind of weird alien, which I guess is a change from the pale skinned, beautiful and sexy creatures of the night we're accustomed to. You don't see his vampire teeth or anything and he still somewhat looks like a normal human, but you know that he's a vampire, and thats scary. Here's an after/before shot of an attractive female vampire:Vampires in Oblivion are really great.spoiler.I did the quest with the.cough.vampire.cough. count from Skingrad. (the one that wants to talk to you in the field at midnight and then comes rescue you)It went like this: Assassins: 'Fool! You thought the rich powerful count would meet you in the field with the cows at midnight? We be assassins! We outwit you!.they attack me.great.

Oblivion

They had me totally fooled.me starts beating on them while running away at the same time. (I guess I'm not that strong, so thats my fighting style, run and jump backwards, or in circle, and hit ennemies running after me, then after a while try to jump on something they can't reach so I can heal myself as they run around the rock/whatever, then just kill them with my bow, or jump down to do the run backwards jump technique, etc.)Among the chaos, suddenly, one of them starts talking to me.' Now that you know that I am the count of Skingrad and I'm a vampire, here is your book.' Go back to the part before the book. You're the count.

You're a vampire?! Thanks for telling me, I'd never have noticed otherwise!'

Even after looking at him up close, he looks nothing like a vampire.shrug.I also like how you can't use your claws or teeth to attack. A vampire, with a hammer. Or a vampire, with a bow.

Or, a vampire, which attacks people by punching them. The legendary vampire count Bogarth, he's got orange eyes, and pummels humans to death with his fists, also sneaks into houses to steal a little bit of sleeping people's blood without them noticing. only one word.

FEAR!!!I also like how you become a vampire. You go in a cave (I guess vampires in Oblivion hangout in caves.

No seriously. They seem to like caves!), and see a vampire staring at a wall, so you attack him with your sword, because you know that he'll try to go steal a little bit of your blood while you're sleeping (OH NO!!!), and so, as you would expect from anyone in a cave staring at a wall getting hit in the back with a sword, he turns around and whacks you with his vampiric weapon, a club, and suddenly, after like 5 minutes,.WHAM. you get, hemoroligia polymorphia disease, and you become an hemoroligiac polymorphiac a vampire. Not sure why they make it so complicated. 'YOU GOT VAMPIRED'.

At least then people would understand what the hell is going on.But when I think about it, its the realism I like. Because you see, he put the disease on his club, and you got the disease, when he whacked you with it. Maybe I can do that. Put the disease on my fists, and infect people by punching them. Then I could walk up to someone who doesn't know I'm a vampire, say with a transylvanian accent: 'I am legendary vampire count Bogarth, hello', 'Hello', then punch him in the face with my infected fist, run away, wait for like 3-4 days (takes that long to become a vampire), and now someone else is one!

Oblivion Vampire Powers

And he can't know he's becoming a vampire, coz he's thinking 'at least I wasn't bitten by the vampire', BUT I PUT THE DISEASE ON MY FIST LMAO! So maybe thats why they say you got the parhelia philamornica disease, so people can't know they're becoming a vampire! Smart!Btw, anyone know why vampires attack you on sight? Its not coz they want to drink your blood obviously, coz he can't drink ur blood while ur dead/paralyzed/stunned, only if you're asleep. So why is he trying to kill you.Anyhow, when you're a vampire, you only get like 5% normal weapon resistance. Well ok 20% after 4 days of not eating.

Well that might not sound like much, but if someone hits you with a sword so hard that it would have killed you if you were a normal human, as a vampire, it'll almost kill you depending on how long you haven't eaten. If you've just eaten, you'll basically be severely cripped and die the next time you encounter a rat, but if you've gone four days without eating, then you'll have 20% of your strength left, thanks to your great resistance to normal weapons! But then watch out, coz of he's got some matches you're done, you'll light up like a torch with your 50% weakness to fire. So its got advantages, but disadvantages too.I also like how when you kill a vampire, their bodies fall to the ground, but you can search them and find 'vampire dust'! Oh and btw you don't need a stake to kill a vampire in Oblivion, any regular non-magical sword/club/fist does the trick. So as I was saying, when they die. They don't turn to dust.

They fall to the ground, but their bodies generate somekind of dust. When they die. Or maybe they carry some 'vampire dust' on them.

That makes sens, I became a vampire, and I had vampire dust from the last vampires I killed before. That probably explains that. Also, as a vampire, which hasn't eaten for four days, you get to see in the dark for 90 seconds (Its like a limited kind of thing, they can see in darkness, but only for a little while) and turn invisible for 180 seconds, ONCE PER DAY!! But if you eat, you lose that ability, because, well, you've eaten and you're now a weaker vampire.

You also get some hand to hand combat bonuses, because we all know vampires excell at fisticuff, also acrobatics, like they can seriously jump and roll. You also get more Strength, Willpower and Speed.

No agility, no personality, no endurance change. I guess the undead gets tired just like a regular human, also agility ('the gracefulness of a person or animal that is quick and nimble') doesn't really seem to fit with the whole vampire thing.

And personality doesn't change, altough you've now become the undead. So in conclusion, I think they did a superb job with it. I couldn't have done it any better. I wish more games could take the example and really, take the essence of something, and really enhance it and make it real.

Thank you, Oblivion, for the great vampire experience you allow us to experience. 'It's funny though, because you see, when they wake up, I've already drank their blood.' 'And then they tell you to get out?' 'So what else does your character do?' 'Well, for example, I'll be in the park at night.

And there's this woman on a bench - and she's sleeping. And before she wakes up, I've already drank her blood.' 'That's all you do?' 'But the character is very diverse and very deep.

Oblivion How To Become A Vampire

Let me give you another example - I'm in a castle, and there's this beautiful maiden.' 'And you drink her blood?'

'She doesn't even know it!' Originally posted by GirgleMirt.he turns around and whacks you with his vampiric weapon, a club, and suddenly, after like 5 minutes,.WHAM. you get, hemoroligia polymorphia disease, and you become an hemoroligiac polymorphiac a vampire.struggles to add content to an already beautiful post. That is without doubt the greatest criticism of any game feature I have read in a long time. Sublimely accurate, too. What is it with people's fascination with vampires, anyway?

Never quite understood it (or werewolves). There is the entire adolesence metaphor with werewolves, but beyond that.?

It's not a huge bonus, if you hide it I mean. If you feed every night, nobody ever knows you're a vampire except for a select few people and it doesn't affect their disposition (to my knowledge). Also, if you feed nightly, you never take damage from sunlight. On the downside, you only get +5 to all Vampirism-boosted stats and one lesser power that isn't really all that useful. Still, it can't hurt. My Thief is a vampire. Every little bit helps I guess.

It's Vicente Valtieri that is the vampire, by the way. Lucien Lachance is the Speaker who initiated you into the Brotherhood. QUOTE='JediMoogle'It's not a huge bonus, if you hide it I mean. SPOILERS Ungolim is the Listener. Lucien is one of the Speakers, and ironically the most loyal of the Black Hand. Being a vampire has its pluses. You gain extra powers and enhanced strength. I have found this very useful as I continued throughout the game when fighting power foes.

I'm willing to deal with the inconveniences(having to feed on blood routinely to speak to people and go out in the sun, which can be a hassle at times). If you decide that you don't like being a vampire you could always reverse it by finding the cure whcih is another quest curve112 Or if you have the Vile Lair plugin, you can just use the Fount of Renewal. It suits my character perfectly. I really like the vapirisim effects. You get cool spells too like becoming invisible. Like someone else said you have to know how to manage it.I have two characters, one that's an archer and another a necromancer. It's like two completely different games having a normal character and a vampire.

In one game, everyone hates me, in the other they love me. CPMbasic Ha ha, that's how it is with my two. Although everyone hated my thief before he was a vampire (Dark Brotherhood quests probably didn't help:P). Guards REALLY hate me. Everyone loves my Illusionist though. The average disposition of people I talk to with him is 80.

Without bribes or speechcraft.
