Canon Pixma Error 8200

99

I have tried to clear the error code B200 for a week now. The earlier forum opinion is the printhead. But my printhead is stucked to the RHS of the printer when I face it. In 2011 Malter said that he found a white tag and when he pulled on it the printhead carriage was released. But I found nothing like that white tag on my PIXMA Pro9000!Someone else suggested to turn the big wheel on the RHS when the top cover was taken off. I did this many times without any effect! So I am in limbo. Your advice is urgently needed.

Hi, the B200 error is just a Common general error code and doesn’t real mean anything by itself, it’s also very unusual to get that message on the 9000, unless something is obstructing the free movement of the print head. (Foreign body)When you turn on the printer how many times does the orange LED light blink before resetting and starting again?Rotating the black gear wheel on the side of the printer should release the locking latch that holds the print head in place and if it doesn’t then something else maybe preventing its release.Turn the gear wheel marked in this photo slowly and carefully watch to see the print head rise to its highest point then the cartridges and head can easily moved by hand.Click to enlarge. My honorable The Hat, many thanks for your precious reply. I have fixed the problem and we are happy printing the Xmas cards to send to our friends. Old technology and habits die hard!Yes I did turn the black wheel slowly both ways and see the carriage rise and drop. But the carriage refused to move.

In fact it moved forward and back 2mm! I reconnected the power cord then turned the printer on.

After a bit of moaning and groaning, the printer carriage started to move to the left. When it got to half way the cord was quickly removed. It has been very good ever since after I re-installed the clean print head and all the ink cartridges. In fact, there was an error 6A00 on display for a short while but this was removed when I spoke the ink absorber pads to raise their levels up high. The Hat, Many thanks. I am for ever thankful to your assistance.
