Try encoding the movie with the VP6 codec if you can as that codec installed with the game so we know it can handle it. Many video editing tools don't give you a choice of codec so you'd need one (like ) that does. I have found that if I run the game with no sound using the -nosound switch I get exactly the same thing, movie displays but doesn't play.Like I said previously, have used all of the same movies in Sims 2 TV in Windows 7 and 10 with no problem. When I go to my Options, the Audio Option is grayed out.no control possible. I know that I didn't want any sound and would have turned it off everywhere I could but now have no idea where to turn it on. Checked my manual, looked at other games and no clue.
